Shrubs are an integral part of every landscape.  They help tie together the space between your trees and lawn.  Use shrubs for foundation plantings or privacy hedges.  Plant an individual specimen to create a focal point in your landscape.  Define your walkways or garden beds to direct traffic around your yard.  Moisture loving shrubs such as a Dwarf Arctic Blue Willow will help soak up standing water in problem areas.

Get multi-season interest by combining shrubs that bloom or change colors at different times of the year.  Begin with early spring blooming shrubs such as Forsythia and combine with late spring flowering shrubs such as Lilac.  Continue the color throughout the summer by planting ever blooming Hydrangea and finish off the season with brilliant red Burning Bush in fall.  Add evergreens such as Boxwood, Yew or Arborvitae to have a few shrubs that hold their leaves and color year-round.
